2010 의국인유학생 채육대회 | 2010 International Students Sports Festival
8 October 2010
This is the first time I join this activity in The Catholic University of Korea (가톨릭대학교) despite of the fact that it is my second semester here as of the moment. The reason for this is I am now taking a Korean Language Class for Exchange Students. I am not technically part of the Exchange Students. However, their 2010 International Students Sports Festival only includes those who are taking the Intensive Korean Language Classes.
There are 300+ students in the Program and there were around 250 students who joined the Sports Fest.
It was a sunny day, fortunately or unfortunately! =) It started with warm-up! The activities we do during our elementary PE days! =)
There are various categories for the Sports Fest.
1. Balloon Popping - wherein we have to blow a balloon then tie it in our ankle. We have to step on others' balloon and vice versa. The last 10 players are the winners.
2. Group Jumping Rope - I never enjoyed Jumping Rope when I was young... unfortunately... But we joined this game. We were grouped by 10s. We did not know that it was already the game because the teachers said it is just practice... Anyway, I did not know what happened or rather who won here...
3. Mission Game - Our teacher asked us to join but we did not. It so happened that Raechelle was absent in class so the teacher registered Raechelle instead. Regina did not register because as she answered the teacher: "I already registered to many games already".
The Mission that Raechelle got is to find somebody who is thinner than her. So she got Regina Coeli Tan. But the mission did not end there. Another person in the mission game was tasked to bring the biggest person in the team. And that biggest person has to carry Regina (who was the product of Raechelle's Mission) up and down.
Biggest person carrying Regina Coeli Tan up and down.
4. 3 Players 4 Legs - Raechelle, Alex and I joined this game. Alex was at the center! =) and we have to walk for a-round in the game area. My ankle aches now due to the "rope".
5. Relay Game - This was done with around 5 pairs (male and female). First, they have to turn around for 5 times (I think) then walk towards a station where there are Round Chips or Cookies hanging. The pair has to reach up and eat the chips or cookies without using their hands. (The catch here is that you do not need to eat everything, you can just bite then leave so imagine what will be left for those at the back) Then drink 1 Yakult each. After which, they have to blow a balloon and pop it by putting it in between them.
6. Dodge Ball & Basketball
The Dodge Ball was not too productive as it took so long of a time for them to eliminate groups. They should not have asked that much students to join instead. They have elimination rounds within a team before both teams competed. This game is also played with pairs (male and female). The female has to hide from the male and should not be hit and touched by the ball.
Unfortunately, I did not watch the basketball as this is happening along with the Dodge Ball.
7. Tug-O-War (Needless to Explain)
1st Match: Females only (WE WON!!!!)
First time to play Tug-O-War in front line!
2nd Match: Males only (Our team lose!)
3rd Match: All together! (Our team lose again!)
The winning Females in the Tug-O-War! :D
8. Running - I have not been running in the field since I was Grade 4! hahaha! But fortunately, we won! with the help of my teammates! =)
Before the run!
After the run!
I got a Lock-and-Lock Tumbler for running! Oh and Thanks to my classmate who actually asked me to run because she cannot run due to certain circumstances...
Both teams tied in the match so the teachers per team was asked to run as well and we won finally! =)
Finally, our Korean Language Teacher! She looks so young!!!!!
We finally won the game. Alas!
